First-agent quickstart

This quickstart uses the recommended public CPU setup. It is the fastest path to a working agent. Use the full launch guide when you need a GPU, Tailscale, a particular region, or your own model key.

Before you begin

Confirm that:

• your email is verified;
• billing setup is complete;
• your plan has room for another active agent;
• your browser can remain open while initial provisioning starts.

Launch the recommended setup

1. Open Cloud Console → Agents.
2. Select the plus button in Agent fleet.
3. Keep the generated name or enter a recognizable one.
4. Leave Customize setup (optional) closed.
5. Review Estimated infrastructure cost.
6. Select Launch Agent.

The recommended card summarizes the enabled provider, CPU runtime, and selected computer. Pneum.ai also chooses an available location and boot-disk size.

Wait for readiness

The new card normally moves through these states:

1. provisioning: the provider is creating the computer and networking.
2. running: the computer is on.
3. loading: runtime services are still starting.
4. ready: services are live and responding.

Initial provisioning takes longer than a normal restart. Keep the card visible; the console updates automatically and also performs safety refreshes.

If the card reports a provisioning error, copy the exact message before deleting the failed record. Then follow launch and status troubleshooting.

Open the agent

When the card shows ready, open its UI link. The endpoint is restricted to the IP range detected during launch when an allowlist was applied. If it does not open, see connection troubleshooting.

Complete first-run setup:

1. Name the assistant profile and review its instruction.
2. Keep the managed model configuration or add a supported provider key.
3. Choose a voice.
4. Select Done.

Control costs when finished

Select Stop on the agent card when you do not need compute. Confirm the idle boot-disk estimate. Storage continues billing while stopped, but compute and GPU charges stop after the provider confirms shutdown. Use Terminate only when the environment and its data are no longer needed.
